Journey’s End for Wallace

A few days after the unveiling on 7 November, the statue of Alfred Russel Wallace was moved to its final position. He stands near to the wildlife garden outside the Darwin Centre, inside which many of Wallace’s original insect specimens are stored and exhibited.

The statue, by acclaimed sculptor Anthony Smith, depicts the young Wallace wielding a butterfly net during his expedition to the Malay Archipelago.

Entangled Bank Events is proud to have made a major contribution to the fundraising for the statue.
