The acclaimed evolutionary biologist, best-selling author and Fellow of the Royal Society, Professor Richard Dawkins, will be speaking at the Wills Memorial Building in Bristol on Saturday 24th August 2013. Richard will present a talk enigmatically entitled ‘Give the under surface to Mr Wallace, but yield the upper surface to Mr Darwin.’ Trust us, all will become clear!
There will be time to ask Professor Dawkins questions after the talk.
The whole-day event includes other prominent scientists, and also uber-geek musician and physicist Jonny Berliner who will entertain us with a small collection of science songs, and Theatr na nÓg who will present a short play You Should Ask Wallace.
All profits will go to the Alfred Russel Wallace Memorial Fund to finance a major bronze statue of Wallace. The statue to be unveiled by Sir David Attenborough at the Natural History Museum on 7 November 2013, the exact centenary of Wallace’s death.
